6. Benefits to Port St. Lucie: The City and FDOT desires to provide an Incentive/Disincentive Provision in the construction contract to complete the construction of Port St. Lucie Boulevard Segment 2.2 (South of Paar Drive to South of Alcantarra Boulevard) sooner for the benefit of the public, safety, and to reduce the disruptive effect of construction on the community. This amendment to the Locally Funded Agreement (LFA) allows the City to provide the required additional funding to FDOT, per the terms of the original LFA. The total Project cost is estimated to be Twenty-Three Million Nine Hundred Fourteen Thousand One Hundred Six Dollars and no Cents ($23,914,106.00). Per the conditions of the original LFA, in the event the actual cost of the project is greater than that paid by the City, the City shall be responsible to pay the difference to the FDOT.
