body
Submitted By: Michelle Fentress, Procurement Agent I, Procurement Management Division (PMD).
Strategic Plan Link: The City's Goal of a high-performing city government organization.
Executive Summary (General Business): The Office of Management and Budget wishes to recognize the Procurement Management Division for achieving the NIGP Accreditation for Quality Public Procurement (QPPD).
Presentation Information: 5 minutes. Caroline Sturgis, Director of OMB, will provide a brief overview of the accreditation.
Staff Recommendation: Request that the Council acknowledge the efforts of the City's Procurement Management Division.
Background: The QPPD accreditation formally recognizes excellence in public procurement through the establishment of a body of standards that evidence sound procurement practice. This achievement represents the Procurement Team's commitment to professionalism and utilization of best practices for procurement functions. The City belongs to an elite group of procurement organizations, only 5% of the governmental agencies throughout the United States and Canada with NIGP membership have attained this distinction.
The City originally earned the NIGP QPPD accreditation in August 2003 and will maintain this achievement through February 2025. During this three-year award period, the City will celebrate 20 years of continuous accreditation.
