Background: On January 17, 2020, the City of Port St Lucie entered into an agreement with Florida's Division of Emergency Management. The City agreed to lay fiber optic cable linking the City Hall Complex, The JEA Utility Plant, The County EOC, St Lucie Fire District Headquarters and, St Lucie Sheriff's Office Headquarters. In March of 2020 the COVID-19 pandemic impacted the City curtailing it from allocating the necessary resources to this project.
