Executive Summary (General Business): Following the Parks & Recreation Department’s initial accreditation in 2021, the Department has worked to prepare for its first five-year reaccreditation in 2026.

Staff Recommendation: Request that the Council hear the presentation on CAPRA Reaccreditation
Background: The Parks & Recreation Department earned its first accreditation in 2021. CAPRA Accreditation maintains a five-year reaccreditation cycle. CAPRA is the only national accreditation for park and recreation agencies. Just over 200 agencies nationwide hold this prestigious accreditation, representing only about 2% of all park and recreation agencies in the United States.
