3. Purpose: Public safety, water quality and preventative maintenance services throughout the City as needed.

5. Duration: Initial contract period began June 1, 2019 through May 31, 2022. Renewal term will become effective June 1, 2022 through May 31, 2024.
6. Benefits to Port St. Lucie: To ensure public safety for the citizens, provide water quality and to provide preventative maintenance to keep long range costs down.
7. Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): Estimated annual expenditures are budgeted at $4,000,000. Future expenditures will be as appropriated in each budget year.

Background: The Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance of more than 6,700 culvert pipes of varying shapes, sizes and compounds. A contractor who specializes in all aspects of underground utilities, dewatering and maintenance of traffic (MOT) is needed for these preventative maintenance services.
