Executive Summary (General Business): The Port St. Lucie Police Department is requesting approval to expend $76,747 of forfeiture funds in accordance with F.S.S. 932.7055(4),(5)(a). Once approved by Council members, the funds will be incorporated into the City’s budget, via the budget amendment process.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve the forfeiture request.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the forfeiture request.
2. Move that the Council not approve and/or provide staff direction on the forfeiture request.
Background: This represents the initial FY 2425 request to expend Fund # 603 Forfeitures.
Issues/Analysis: N/A
Financial Information: The expenditure of funds is as follows: $25,500 for forfeiture-related operational costs; $44,000 to support various Crime Prevention and community policing programs including, but not limited to, the Roundtable of St. Lucie County, LEAP, Castle, Boys & Girls Club, etc. The unallocated balance of $7,247 is to be used on future allowable expenses.
