Executive Summary (General Business):
Presentation Information: Discuss the Tradition Regional Park design concept as prepared by Lucido & Associates.
Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve moving forward with a concept design and construction phasing recommendation provided by Lucido & Associates.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and move forward with a design and construction phasing inclusive of revisions to the Lucido & Associates conceptual site plan.
2. Move that the Council not approve the proposed conceptual site plan and provide staff with further direction.
Background: Tradition Regional Park has been requested by the residents of Port St. Lucie and has been noted via the Parks & Recreation 10-Year System Master Plan as a desired amenity for the City.
The City's adopted Strategic Plan, Goal 6, Culture Nature and Fun Activities includes the planning and construction of Tradition Regional Park. On March 9, 2020, City Council authorized Mattamy Palm Beach, LLC, to begin the conceptual master planning process for Tradition Regional Park. Mattamy's goal was to develop a conceptual master plan for the future park, illustrating park features and amenities that were derived through the public engagement process, meetings with stakeholder groups, referencing the Park & Recreation Department's 10-Year Master Plan and with guidance from City staff.
