3. Purpose: Provide disposal services for the sludge from the Utility Wastewater Plants.
4. New/Renewal/Modified: Modified.
5. Duration: The initial period was a 5-year term with an option to renew for an additional 5-year term. A 3-month extension was executed in September 2023. This Contract has since expired and is now replaced with the City's new vendor, Merrell Bros., Inc.
6. Benefits to Port St. Lucie: To ensure that the sludge is disposed of properly.
7. Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): An additional $150,386.03 for the 3-month term extension at an increased rate of $89.35 per wet ton.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve Amendment #7 to Contract #20130004 with Synagro South, LLC to provide sludge hauling services for an additional 3-month term while the new bid for sludge hauling services was completed.

Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and ratify the additional expenditures for the 3-month extension to Contract #20130004.
2. Move that the Council not approve the additional expenditures for Contract #20130004 and provide staff with direction.

Background: Sludge Hauling services are required to maintain compliance with the regulatory agencies.
